Tasks
1. Negotiate, release purchase orders ( Domestic & Imports ) & follow-up of delivery of goods with required quality ontime.
2. Co-ordination with design, development team , manufacturing team to provide the right material ontime
3. Co-ordination with other functions related to material procurment / development
4. Provide monthly feedback to vendors and help them in continuous improvement
5. Should be capable of developing new components as per engineering drawings with suppliers
6. Control, manage and lead the suppliers to provide cost effective solutions
7. Supplier capacity and capability assessment and necessary
8. Giving inputs for Internal control audit
9. Supplier visits
Requirements
BE (Mechanical) with 5-8 years of relevant experience, in the purchasing function of an engineering industry, preferably in a machine building.
Knowledge of import procedures, capable to interact with freight forwarders/ customs clearing agents for clearance of goods
Purchasing of machined / sheet metal components manufactured from Mild steel/ aluminium / stainless steel materials.
Able to read, understand & cost the manufactured parts using ferrous / non- ferrous materials.
Knowledge on surface treatment is preferable, such as anodizing, plating, powder coating etc.
Hands on experience of indegenisation in a cost effective manner
Should be capable of developing new components as per engineering drawings with suppliers
Exposure to ISO 9001 is essential.
